Survival of the Friendliest

I was recently invited to speak at the Women’s Forum Global Meeting in Deauville, France, alongside leaders from many sectors of business and society, including French Presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron, Muhtar Kent, Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company and Danae Ringelmann, Co-Founder of Indiegogo.

Paul Skinner speaks at Women's Forum Global Meeting 2016

The theme for the 2016 conference was 'Is the sharing economy a sharing world?' and I used it as an opportunity to explore how creating Collaborative Advantage could help to bring the best qualities of sharing economy businesses into any organisation.

My session, titled 'Survival of the Friendliest', also helped me to test and further develop the ideas at the heart of a book I’m writing that will be published by Hachette in 2018 – about which more will follow in the coming months.

The Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society is an international platform looking at major social and economic issues from women's perspectives. Founded in 2005, the Forum seeks to give voice to leading women and men in politics, business, civil society and universities through various international meetings.

The other conference sessions at this Global Meeting considered the implications of the sharing economy mega-trend for traditional businesses and international corporations. And looked at the impact the sharing economy is having and will have on international policies, workforce, innovation, ethics, entrepreneurship, urbanism, international business, and climate change.
